LearnPokemon does not set its own tracking cookie. This page explains the session storage the encyclopedia uses, cookies the host may set, and the advertising cookies Google may use if AdSense is turned on.

What LearnPokemon stores in the browser

The site does not require an account, so it does not set a login cookie. Search text stays in memory on the page you are using.

When you open a set, the card list may be saved in session storage under a key that starts with learnpokemon-cards:. Session storage is not a cookie. It is not sent to LearnPokemon with later requests, and this project has no server that would receive it. It lives in your browser until that tab’s session ends or you clear site data. The timeline, Pokédex, and rankings still render if you block or delete it. The site does not use local storage for an account, a cart, or an analytics id.

Cookies from the host

Pages are static files on Cloudflare. LearnPokemon does not add a first-party analytics cookie. If Cloudflare bot protection is enabled for the zone, Cloudflare may set an operational cookie such as __cf_bm to tell ordinary browsers from automated traffic. That cookie is described in Cloudflare’s documentation and in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. It is not a LearnPokemon profile.

Google AdSense cookies, when ads are enabled

LearnPokemon may show Google AdSense ads. While the publisher id in the project is still the placeholder REPLACE_WITH_ADSENSE_CLIENT, the site does not load Google’s ad script and does not ask Google to set advertising cookies. This page does not publish a real ca-pub- id.

When advertising is enabled, Google may set or read cookies and similar identifiers on your browser in order to show and measure ads. Those cookies can remember that you saw an ad, limit how often an ad repeats, and, if your settings allow it, personalize ads using activity on other sites in Google’s advertising network. Google may also use advertising identifiers where the browser or device provides them. The exact cookie names are Google’s, and they can change. Google documents them in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and in its Privacy Policy.

You can turn personalized ads down in Google’s ad settings. In regions where Google shows a consent message, that choice is Google’s certified message, not a second account on LearnPokemon. Blocking third-party cookies in your browser will limit what an ad network can store. The encyclopedia itself still loads without them.

Other requests that are not cookies

Fonts may load from Google Fonts. Card and species images may load from the Pokémon TCG API, TCGdex, or the PokéAPI sprite host. Those are ordinary file requests. They are not LearnPokemon cookies. Each of those services has its own policy, linked from Privacy and About.
